Saving the Environment: Following Through With Your Promise

Eco-Friendly. Environmental. Ecological. Green.

These are more than just words these days. These are a movement. A movement that represents a global understanding of what should be important in today’s society and all around people and companies are proving their dedication to this important cause.

The list of green companies is growing daily comprising of some big names such as: Honda and Toyota to Nokia, Dell and Starbucks as well as hundreds of other companies who have chosen to be part of the eco-friendly and environmental revolution.

But saving the environment is not just about what you say, it is about what you do. As both individuals and companies, before we can make a difference in the environment the first step is to make a conscious decision to make a change. The steps that follow involve standing behind your decision and making good on your promises.

Some companies have discovered just how to make good on their promises, such as Toyota who is rapidly moving into energy efficient, hybrid and electric vehicles. There are some companies however, that say one thing and do another.

In order to follow through with your decision as an individual to make an effort when it comes to saving the environment, you need to be aware of which companies are doing what they say they are. The first step, is researching the company. The steps that follow involve researching the products they manufacture and the places they manufacture them in. Just because a product is eco-friendly, doesn’t mean its materials or its production process is. The goal is to know how to tell the fakes from the real green products.

Only when you become aware of what is environmentally friendly and what is not will you be able to take part in saving the environment as a consumer or an organization.

1. Make the decision to do good for the environment.

2. Discover the truth about the products you produce or buy.

3. Research ways to reduce your carbon footprint and make the world a more eco-friendly place.

4. Become part of the invisible network of individuals devoted to saving the environment and teaching your children to do the same.
